Just what does a troubleshooter do?
A troubleshooter will come into your place of business and, after consultations, will help you pinpoint areas where you can improve productivity, help you solve issues that have been plaguing you, and help you streamline your workforce or your processes.
Troubleshooters can help you find areas where employees are not producing to their potential by doing time and motion studies, helping with employee relations, etc.
While this term is quickly being taken over by the computer world, we use it here for the purpose of offering our services.
Troubleshooting Case One
A major transportation company was having problems with drivers compliance to safety standards thereby causing hundreds of thousands of dollars damage to the company vehicles at one of their sites.
Deborah Abi went in, did an assessment, set up and held numerous safety meetings, did on-site and surprise safety inspections, and rode along with drivers giving them one-on-one training.
Vehicle accidents were cut by as much as 80% in the following quarters. The program was such a success that Deborah was sent to two other locations for the same company.
She also received a bonus for her work in reducing company accidents and thereby increasing their revenue.
Troubleshooting Case Two
A major corporation was needing a new filing system.
Deborah Abi and her team went in to the corporate offices, sorted through mounds of papers, set up a new filing system, shreded unimportant documents, stored outdated files, and digitized thousands of documents.
Troubleshooting Case Three
A major sports magazine was floundering and called for help.
Deborah spent one month at the magazine just observing processes, talking to employees, vendors, distributors, etc.
After that one month, she set up a new distribution system, hired and trained 15 ad salespeople, set up a new subscriber database and trained the editorial staff in journalism techniques.
Sales of advertising increased more than 40% and subscriptions increased 30%. The customer was happy, the subscribers, vendors, and the sports team were also happy.
