Deborah Abi has conducted seminars, workshops, and training since the late 1970's. Even as a lowly E-2 Airman First Class, in the U. S. Air Force, she worked with high-ranking military leaders setting up seminars and workshops. Later, after she was retired, she worked in the civilian world training sales people to increase their sales earnings, held management training workshops, and taught sixth grade.

Seminars are usually conducted by a speaker or a series of speakers with them doing most of the talking and very little audience interaction.

Workshops are with a speaker or series of speakers that has a large amount of audience interaction, discussion, breaking into groups, etc.

They are often used to work through issues,  introduce new concepts, the possibilities are endless.
